How far along? 30 weeks, 1 day
Gender: Remains a mystery
Total weight gain? I'll still share, I guess -- it's between 12 and 13 lbs, depending on when I step on the scale. I'd really like to keep it to 20 lbs total, but we'll see how that goes.
Cravings? Apples again.
Movement? It's crazytown in there.
Best moment this week: Bunny got some really nice stuff around Christmas -- so fun!
Worst moment this week: Same old sciatica.
Soooo... we've officially entered 30-week territory, which sounds SO much better to me than the 20s. Now we're going places! And by going, I mean waddling.
Actually, no, that isn't true -- not yet, at least.
I am keeping my fingers very tightly crossed for the next 10 weeks, because from what I understand, they can be a real b-word, symptom-wise. Aside from long-gone nausea, my only trials so far have just been sciatica and occasionally wicked heartburn. I've managed to avoid swelling, stretch marks, leg cramps, and all that other jazz. The only real change is my bump, which has officially reached shelf-status. That means it's far enough out that, in the appropriately slouchy position on the couch, I can comfortably rest a bowl of
But I'm not assuming that the good luck will continue throughout this last lap. I'm slathering on lotion and drinking probably two gallons of water every day, but look -- the truth is, things can get pretty ugly toward the end of pregnancy. So I'm also trying to mentally prepare myself for puffy eventualities.
Case in point -- look how much things have, ahem, changed in the past ten weeks...
Week 20 - tan from recent trip to Florida, wishing I had more of a baby bump
Week 30 - pale as the driven snow, wishing I could magically fast-forward to March
I am not at all the sort of woman who normally thinks like this, but looking at those photos... I seriously cannot wait to get a tan and go on a diet. Let's lumber through this white, sugary winter as fast as my soon-to-be-swollen feet can move. Onward ho!
